SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Armstrong State University women's tennis team advanced to two singles and one doubles bracket final after Saturday's action at the USC Upstate Fall Invitational in Spartanburg, S.C.
Junior Lena Lutzeier advanced to the Green Singles bracket final after a 6-0, 6-0 win over Lea Cutura of Campbell, as well as a 6-0, 6-0 win over Alexa Webb of Western Carolina. She will face Katarina Kozarov of Furman in the bracket final at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
Freshman Paula Roca Boixader advanced to the Black Singles bracket after winning a pair of five-set matches, defeating Sarah Rieckmann of Gardner-Webb, 5-7, 6-0, 6-1, as well as Savannah Taranto of Western Carolina, 6-2, 5-7, 6-3. She will face Danni Vines of Furman, 11:00 a.m.
In other singles action, freshman Tajtana Stoll lost her bracket quarterfinal match to Aryn Green of Furman, 6-3, 7-5, in the White Singles bracket.
Doubles saw the duo of Lutzeier and Roca down the pair of McCall and Strickland, 6-4, from Western Carolina in the Green Doubles bracket. They will take on the pair of Edwards and Patton from Chattanooga at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.
