Armstrong Volleyball Second In NCAA Southeast Region Rankings

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The No. 19-ranked and unbeaten Armstrong Atlantic State University volleyball squad checks in at No. 2 in the first NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings, released today by the NCAA's regional advisory committee. These rankings are used to determine selections into the 2013 NCAA Division II Volleyball Championships.

Armstrong (22-0) is behind only Wingate (21-2) in the first region rankings, with Lincoln Memorial (15-10) checking in third, followed by Tusculum (17-7) and Newberry (16-8). Sixth is Lenoir-Rhyne (13-8), followed by Francis Marion (18-6) in seventh, Belmont Abbey (22-3) in eighth, Flagler (15-9) in ninth and Montevallo (15-9) in tenth.

Three automatic bids will be awarded to the tournament champions from the Peach Belt, South Atlantic and Conference Carolinas with five more at-large bids to be awarded. The 2013 NCAA Division II Volleyball Championships field will be announced on Monday, November 25, at 7:30 p.m. on

Armstrong returns to action on Friday, November 8, traveling to Flagler for a 7:00 p.m. Peach Belt Conference matchup with the Saints in St. Augustine, Fla.
