SAVANNAH, Ga. - Armstrong Atlantic State University junior middle hitter Taylor Permenter has been named the Peach Belt Conference's volleyball Player of the Week, announced today by league officials.
Permenter hit .387 with 2.83 kills per set and 1.33 blocks per set as Armstrong captured at least a share of the Peach Belt Conference regular season title with two wins on the week. The junior hit .400 with 11 kills in the Pirates' 3-0 win over Montevallo on Friday. She then hit .364 with a season-high seven blocks in a 3-0 win over Columbus State on Saturday.
The Jacksonville, Fla., native currently ranks third in the PBC in hitting percentage (.303) and fourth in blocks per set (0.87) for the No. 19-ranked Pirates. This is her first career weekly honor from the Peach Belt.
Permenter is the fifth different Armstrong player to earn a weekly award from the Peach Belt this season, joining fellow Players of the Week Kristen Holmes (Sept. 16, Oct. 21), Jessica Santaniello (Sept. 23) and Emily Wylie (Oct. 14) as well as three-time Specialist of the Week Megan Pando (Sept. 30, Oct. 14, Oct. 28).
Armstrong returns to action on Friday, November 8, traveling to Flagler for a 7:00 p.m. Peach Belt Conference contest against the Saints in St. Augustine, Fla.
