Ashley Seal Named PBC Volleyball Specialist of the Week

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Armstrong Atlantic State University junior setter Ashley Seal has been named the first Peach Belt Conference Specialist of the Week for the 2011 season, announced today by league officials.

Seal averaged 11.13 assists per set in leading the Pirates to a perfect 4-0 mark to open the season. The Orlando, Fla., native registered 46 assists, 10 digs, four service aces and two blocks in a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Lenoir-Rhyne on Friday, then had 50 assists with seven digs and two blocks in a 3-1 win over Catawba on Saturday.

She leads the Peach Belt in total assists, ranks second in assists per set and is also second in service aces through the first weekend of play in the Peach Belt.

Armstrong, who is among teams receiving votes in the latest AVCA Division II Top 25 poll, returns to action this weekend on Friday and Saturday, September 9-10, at the USC Aiken Pacer Invitational in Aiken, S.C.
