No. 21 Pirates Open NCAA Southeast Regional Action On Friday


SAVANNAH, Ga. - The No. 21-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State University volleyball squad travels to Wingate, N.C., for the 2011 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional today and opens up action on Friday at Noon, facing Tusculum.

The Pirates (35-2) are the No. 3 seed and make the journey to North Carolina for a fourth straight year. Armstrong captured the 2008 regional, advancing to the NCAA Elite Eight, while advancing to the second round in 2009. Armstrong faces sixth-seeded Tusculum (18-12) for the second time this season; the two teams met on Oct. 15 in Savannah with the Pirates notching a 25-21, 25-22, 26-24 win over the Pioneers.
