Barbora Krtickova Named PBC Women's Tennis Player of the Week

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Armstrong Atlantic State University sophomore Barbora Krtickova has been named the Peach Belt Conference's Women's Tennis Player of the Week, released today by league officials.
Krtickova led the No. 4-ranked Pirates to three wins over nationally-ranked opponents as Armstrong remained unbeaten on the season at 11-0. The No. 2-ranked singles player in the nation outdueled No. 8-ranked Zora Vickova of fifth-ranked Hawaii Pacific, 6-0, 6-4, then picked up singles wins over No. 2 (NAIA) Fresno Pacific’s Katarena Paliivets, 6-4, 6-4, and No. 13 Grand Canyon’s Priscilla Annoual, 6-4, 6-3.
The Nove Mesto Nad Metuji, Czech Republic native teamed with Aleksandra Filipovski to give up just three games in three doubles wins, over No. 23-ranked Mittag and Van de Velde of Grand Canyon (8-1); over Fresno Pacific (8-1) and over Hawaii Pacific’s Hansen and Smejova (8-0). Krtickova, the reigning PBC Freshman of the Year, earns the honor for the fist time in her career.
Krtickova and the Pirates return to action on Friday, March 23, traveling to Lander for a Peach Belt matchup against the Bercats in Greenwood, S.C.
