Krtickova And Filipovski Advance At ITA Small College National Championships

MOBILE, Ala. - Armstrong Atlantic State University sophomores Barbora Krtickova and Aleksandra Filipovski advanced in the first day of action at the ITA Small College National Championships on Thursday in Mobile, Ala.

Krtickova advanced to the DII singles semifinals after picking up a 6-3, 6-1 win over Sara Burinato of New York Tech. She will now face Julia Mongin of Abilene Christian in the semifinals at 10:30 a.m. on Friday.

She then teamed up with Filipovski for a pair of doubles wins to advance to the DII doubles bracket final. The pair defeated the New York Tech duo of Burinato and Gaby Rodriguez, 6-2, 6-1, then the duo defeated the Lewis University duo of Zsofia Kranczicki and Zsofia Lanstiak, 6-3, 6-7, (10-7). The doubles bracket final will take place on Friday at 5:00 p.m.

The winners of both the singles and doubles bracket will advance to the "Super Bowl" of Small College Tennis, pitting the winners of the NAIA, DIII and JuCo brackets along with the DII bracket for a chance to earn a wild card entry into the ITA National Indoor Championships.
