Kelly Pearce Named PBC Women's Golfer of the Week

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Armstrong Atlantic State University junior Kelly Pearce has been named the Peach Belt Conference's Women's Golfer of the Week, announced Thursday by league officials.
Pearce captured her first collegiate tournament with rounds of 75 and 74 at the Dana Rader Intercollegiate, hosted by Pfeiffer University, on Monday and Tuesday at the Ballantyne Resort in Charlotte, N.C. Her two-round 149 total is a new career low total score and she is the third Armstrong women's golfer to capture an individual event this spring, joining fellow PBC Golfers of the Week Jenna Birch and Kristen Sammarco.
The Albany, Ga., native has finished in the top five twice this season, each occuring in her last three tournaments and her 149 is the lowest 36-hole total she has had this season. With that result, Pearce cracked the PBC's top 15 in stroke average for the season.
Pearce and the Pirates return to action on Monday, March 26, traveling to the Ralph Hargett Memorial Tournament in Charlotte, N.C.
