Birch Shoots 79, Tied For 20th At NCAA Championships


LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Armstrong Atlantic State University sophomore Jenna Birch carded her best round of the 2012 NCAA DII Women's Golf Championships on Friday, a seven-over-par 79 to sit tied for 20th place heading into the final round at Persimmon Ridge Golf Club in Louisville, Ky.

Birch's three-day total of 240 has her tied with two other golfers for 20th place in the 90-player field at +24 for the Championships. Nova Southeastern's Daniela Ortiz leads at +8, one stroke better than teammate Abbey Gittings with four players tied for third at +12.

Nova Southeastern holds a nine stroke lead over Florida Southern in the team competition.

One more round remains in the Championships and Birch will tee off at 10:10 a.m. on Saturday in the final round. You can follow along with live scoring on the last day here.
