MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Armstrong State University men's cross country team finished sixth out of 11 schools at the DII Georgia Collegiate XC Championship, hosted by Georgia College on Saturday morning in Milledgeville.
The Pirates finished the meet with 159 points to place sixth behind team champion Columbus State (39), with host Georgia College (50) finished second and Young Harris (78) finishing third. Valdosta State (115) and Clayton State (129) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, ahead of the Pirates.
Sophomore Guillaume Corneloup led the Pirates over the 8K course by finishing ninth individually with a time of 26:43.1. Sophomore Donald Shelton placed 16th in a time of 27:10.5 while freshman Wyatt Ingram placed 34th in a time of 28:17.0. Freshman Grant MacNeil finished 51st in a time of 29:57.5 and junior Corey Crunk rounded out the Pirates' scoring on the day by finishing 69th individually with a time of 31:54.4.
Armstrong State will now prepare for the 2015 Peach Belt Conference Championships, which will be run on Saturday, October 24th in Dahlonega, Ga., hosted by North Georgia.
