MT. PLEASANT, S.C. - The Armstrong State University men's cross country team finished first among the Division II teams at the College of Charleston Invitational on Saturday morning at Laurel Hill in Mount Pleasant, S.C., just outside of Charleston.
Host College of Charleston (27) captured the DI portion of the meet by just one point over the Citadel (28), while the Pirates (27) outpointed Pfeiffer (28) by just one point as well.
Individually, the Citadel's Michael Lantz won the 8K race in a time of 25:46.8. The Pirates' top runner for a second race in a row was sophomore Guillaume Corneloup, who finished 13th in a time of 28:30.7. Sophomore Henning Schein finished 15th with a time of 28:36.9, while sophomore Donald Shelton placed 16th in a time of 28:38.6.
Freshman Wyatt Ingram placed 20th in a time of 29:07.8 while fellow freshman Grant MacNeil finished 22nd in a time of 29:36.3. Junior Corey Crunk rounded out the Pirate finishers, placing 30th in a time of 34:35.0.
Armstrong State will be next in action on Friday, October 2nd, running at the USC Aiken Invitational at 5:00 p.m. in Aiken, S.C.
