MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Armstrong State University men's cross country team opened up the 2015 season with a second-place finish at the Georgia College Bobcat Classic on Friday evening in Milledgeville, Ga.
The Pirates finished the meet with 50 points, placing behind host Georgia College (17) and ahead of Georgia Military College (62).
Sophomore Guillaume Corneloup paced the Pirates in the first meet of the season with a time of 32:40 over the 8k course, placing eighth. Sophomore Donald Shelton ran a time of 32:42 to place ninth, while freshman Wyatt Ingram placed 10th with a time of 32:42.2. Sophomore Henning Schein finished 11th with a time of 32:43 and freshman Grant McNeil finished 12th with a time of 32:52. Junior Corey Crunk, a member of the Armstrong State baseball team running in his first collegiate cross country meet, placed 17th in a time of 38:07.
Armstrong State will next be in action on Saturday, September 12th, running at the College of Charleston Invitational in Charleston, S.C., at 9:15 a.m.
