Armstrong Cross Country Finishes 7th At Oglethorpe Classic


ATLANTA, Ga. - The Armstrong Atlantic State University men's cross country team finished seventh at the Oglethorpe Cross Country Classic on Saturday morning in Atlanta, Ga.

The Pirates collected 159 points to finish seventh out of the nine team field. Chattahoochee Tech (48) captured the team title, followed by Covenant (77), Tennessee Wesleyan (83), Gordon College (99) and Georgia Military College (110) rounding out the top five schools.

Junior Parker Gordon led the Pirates individually by finishing 12th overall with a time of 30:44.26 over the 8K course. Freshman Brandon Lico placed 34th after a time of 33:47.16, while junior Dustin Scott finished 40th in a time of 34:38.49. Sophomore Josiah Siegel finished 42nd individually with a time of 35:00.87 and sophomore Ryan Kozusko finished 48th with a time of 35:43.73.

Freshman Melissa Carder finished 49th in a time of 35:54.43 and sophomore Scott Lawson rounded out the Pirates' times on Saturday by finishing 50th in a time of 36:06.73.

The Pirates will be next in action on Tuesday, October 18, competing in a dual meet against USC Beaufort in Hardeeville, S.C.
