Georgi Rumenov Named PBC Men's Tennis Player of the Week

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Armstrong Atlantic State University sophomore Georgi Rumenov has been named the Peach Belt Conference's men's tennis Player of the Week for the second straight week and the fourth time this season, announced Monday by league officials.
The top-ranked Rumenov went 3-0 in both singles and doubles as No. 1 Armstrong clinched the Peach Belt regular season title with three wins this week. He began the week with a 6-2, 6-0 win over No. 13-ranked Alex Caspari of Francis Marion, then beat No. 23 Olivier Simonet of Columbus State, 6-3, 6-0 and finished with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking of No. 48 Peter Coulis of Flagler.
The Barcelona, Spain, native then teamed with Mikk Irodja to go 3-0 in doubles. He is a perfect 17-0 in singles and went through the entire PBC schedule unbeaten in singles and doubles.
Rumenov was also the league's Player of the Week on April 2nd, February 7th and February 21st.
Armstrong and the Pirates return to action on Thursday, April 12, visiting Embry-Riddle for a 2:00 p.m. match in Daytona Beach, Fla.
