No. 25 Pirates Finish Fifth At GC Bobcat Invitational

EATONTON, Ga. - The No. 25-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State University men's golf team fired a final-round 288 to finish fifth at the Georgia College Bobcat Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at Cuscowilla Golf Club in Eatonton, Ga.
The Pirates finished the tournament with an 851 total, 18 strokes behind team champion and No. 3-ranked Barry University (833), who won going away by 10 strokes over No. 7 Nova Southeastern (843), while No. 18-ranked UNC Pembroke finished third with an 846 total and No. 1-ranked Lynn finished fourth at 849.
Junior Jacob Tilton shot a second straight even-par 70 to finish the tournament tied for third individually with a five-under-par 205 total, his second straight Top 10 finish and his best career finish ever in a collegiate tournament. Sophomore Gus Wagoner also shot an even-par 70 on Tuesday to finish tied for 23rd individually with a four-over-par 214 total, while senior Matt Motes carded a 76 and junior Tyler Erickson shot a 72, each finishing tied for 51st individually with 221 totals.
Freshman Cory Griffin rounded out Armstrong's scoring on the day with an 80, finishing tied for 58th individually with a 223 total.
Armstrong returns to action on March 26-27, traveling to Greenwood, S.C., for the Lander Bearcat Invitational.
