SAVANNAH, Ga. - Armstrong State University junior outfielder Mike Warren has been named the Peach Belt Conference's baseball Player of the Week, announced today by league officials.
Warren set the table for the Pirates in four games this past week, scoring 13 runs and collecting five steals while hitting .611 with a .696 on-base percentage. He had at least three hits in all three games of the Pirates' PBC road series win at Georgia Southwestern over the weekend. The junior went 4-for-4 with his first home run of the season, scoring four runs in Saturday's 7-3 win. The Macon, Ga., native also handled nine errorless chances in center field.
This is the first PBC Player of the Week honor for Warren and the third PBC Player of the Week honor for an Armstrong State player this season, following Zack Goble (Feb. 20) and Will Browning (Feb. 27).
Warren and the Pirates will return to action on Tuesday, visiting Albany State for a 6:00 p.m. non-conference contest in Albany, Ga.
