The first AlphaGraphics Armstrong State Student-Athlete of the Month of the 2015-16 year is sophomore women’s soccer player Jenny Allen.
AlphaGraphics and the Armstrong athletic department are teaming up to honor one student-athlete each month that best represents the Pirates' drive to succeed on the field and in the classroom. The Pirates have won the Peach Belt Conference Commissioner's Cup four straight years and the Presidential Academic Award two of the last three years and success can not happen without the efforts of our outstanding student-athletes.
A native of Lilburn, Ga., Allen had an outstanding debut season for the Pirates in 2014, earning PBC Freshman of the Year honors. In the first month of the 2015 season, Allen has not let up one bit as she has scored a team-high five goals for the Pirates - three of them being game-winning goals.
Her five goals are tied for fifth in the PBC and her 12 points are tied for fourth in the league. She scored both goals in Armstrong State’s 2-0 win over first-place UNC Pembroke on Sept. 30 and added goals in wins over Montevallo, Belmont Abbey and Adelphi. Allen also carries a 3.30 GPA, was a PBC Presidential Honor Roll honoree as a freshman and is undecided in her major.
Check out the video interview with Jenny on her honor and stay tuned to armstrongpirates.com as we honor another outstanding Student-Athlete of the Month coming up for October!
